Who are we
The company was founded in 1965 by Jacques Vanhemens and his wife as a family business under the name HIMPE J.
The first activities of the company HIMPE J. were limited to the sale of mechanical weighing machines for the potato packers.
In 1982 the company form Vanhemens bvba was adopted and Kristine Vanhemens and Johan Vanhemens joined the company as business managers.
With the rapid advance of consumer / retail packaging, the machine range was steadily expanded with, among other things, electronic weighers, packaging machines, etc. From the early 1990s, combination / multihead weighers and vertical filling, forming and sealing machines were also added.
Until ca 1995, the clientele mainly consisted of the fruit and vegetable sector (Potatoes, Vegetables, Fruit). The most important of the Belgian packers in this market segment have been customers for decades.
Since the mid-95s, the company has also been successfully active in other sectors, including sliced vegetables, potato processing industry and other fresh and frozen food products.
Relying on in-depth technical and product knowledge, more than 40 years of experience and our own after-sales service, our company grew into one of the main suppliers in Belgium of weighing systems, packaging machines and sorting and washing machines for the fruit and vegetable sector.
Today our range covers a wide range of applications for the food industry.
